It was all downhill after the Indians had lost the toss at Durban, and chasing 290 on a ground which had never seen any team do that before on it was never on. The early loss of boath opner batsman and no real experience in the middle-order spelt doom for the Indian team.

The flip to that is that Virat Kohli has established himself as a good number three batsman and to expect Yusuf Pathan to immediately come and start firing all cylinders will be foolhardy. A difficult decision to make for the Indians.

The conditions at the Wanderers will not be as difficult to bat on as the previous game but that would also help to South African batting an equal chance to stand themselves up. what India down in the last match was bowling firepower and that is where they struggled to keep the runs down.

Thers is only one change in south africa bringing in a spinner in place of a fast bowler for a pitch that should have something for the slower bowlers. The most likely swap would be Imran Tahir for Wayne Parnell, which should make it interesting given the hype surrounding the Pakistani-born Tahir.

The batting order should remain the same for South Africa but they will hope that at least one of those at the top of the innings go on to get a big one. There were three half-centurions in the previous game, Hashim Amla (7/2 at Stan James), AB de Villiers (4/1 at SkyBet) and JP Duminy (11/2 at Boylesports), but none of them went on to get to play a Jacques Kallis-like innings.
